With a distinctive mid-century modern aesthetic, the design of the Dream Hollywood hotel will reference the unique architectural character of Los Angeles, while conveying the heritage of the Dream brand.
Hotel Investment Volumes Projected to Reach $70 Billion in 2016
According to JLL’s Hotel Investment Outlook, global hotel investment volume is projected to reach $70 billion in 2016. Although down 15 or 20 percent from 2015, when marquee mergers involving Chinese investors created an unusually high volume of investments, the projection for 2016 is still greater than it was for 2014. The Americas region is forecast to post $37 billion in transactions, down from $46 billion in 2015.

Following a series of updates over the past couple of years, Chicago’s Hotel Monaco has now called on designer Alison Victoria to refresh one if its largest suites. With a time limit of only 28 days, Victoria’s aim was to render the project less a hotel room, but more a personal apartment. Using materials such as reclaimed wood, white marble and grey accessories, the neutral palette delivers a minimalist foundation, with flashy accent pieces from textured gold wall paint - custom-made by local artist Stephanie Gabel with Roux Design - to a wood and brass mini bar cabinet by Hammer Design, adding modern glamour to every corner.

Inside Festival 2015: a converted stable home featuring a treehouse-like bedroom and a hotel featuring a sculptural timber entrance are among the first category winners at this year's Inside Festival awards (+ slideshow).
Revealed Wednesday as part of the Inside World Festival of Interiors in Singapore, the winners also include a Bangkok restaurant and a Singapore lifestyle store. Five more winners will be revealed Thursday, and each category winner will be put forward for the title World Interior of the Year, which will be selected on Friday.
