International design and architecture firm Perkins Eastman has announced that it will acquire ForrestPerkins as of January 1, 2016.
With offices in Dallas, San Francisco, and Washington, D.C., ForrestPerkins will continue to operate under the same name, focusing on luxury hospitality and high-end residential projects. Expanding their footprint, the firm will launch a new practice area under the combined leadership of ForrestPerkins’ president Deborah Lloyd Forrest and Perkins Eastman’s hospitality practice leader, Shawn Basler.
“I am thrilled to join forces with Perkins Eastman,” said Forrest, who will remain in her current role, in a statement. “The opportunities our combined practice provides for my team, the ability to expand into new markets worldwide, as well as retaining and building on the ForrestPerkins brand are all compelling reasons, the most important of which is our shared philosophy and collaborative culture.”
As a combined international practice, the company will total more than 1,000 employees. The acquisition will see ForrestPerkins open an atelier within Perkins Eastman’s New York office in January, as well as relocate to new offices in Washington, D.C., and San Francisco later in the year. Perkins Eastman will also join ForrestPerkins in Dallas.
“We are excited to offer employees of both firms enhanced personal and professional growth opportunities through ForrestPerkins’ unique design vision, combined with Perkins Eastman’s global reach and broader architectural platform,” said Basler in a statement.
Perkins Eastman operates out of New York; Boston; Charlotte, North Carolina; Chicago; Los Angeles; Pittsburgh; San Francisco; Stamford, Connecticut; Toronto; Washington, D.C.; Guayaquil, Ecuador; Dubai; Mumbai, India; and Shanghai.
