In a press release this morning, Indiana Furniture Industries announced that their CEO, Bret Ackerman, has resigned his position to assume other duties with the company.

Ackerman has been with the company for 19 years, and has been President and CEO since 2010. His prior position was as Chief Financial Officer.

Ackerman stated – according to the news release – that he believes the company will be better served with a leader with a fresh perspective and focus to achieve its aggressive vision for growth and market presence.

Board Chairman Phil Schneider says that Ackerman will remain as interim CEO until a replacement is hired.
