Allseating partners with Nursing Institute for Healthcare Design

At the beginning of 2016, Allseating became an Industry Partner of the Nursing Institute for Healthcare Design (NIHD). A non-profit founded ten years ago, NIHD aims to integrate clinical expertise and planning into the design of healthcare environments—specifically through the involvement of experienced nurses.

“We are proud to partner with NIDH,” says Michelle Crill, Allseating’s Healthcare Program Director. “Teaming up with nurses brings us insights that will allow us to provide products that enhance the work environment for caregivers, and enhance the experiences of patients and their families.”

Along with access to networking events and educational resources, as an Industry Partner, Allseating will have direct contacts who can offer their healthcare expertise. Nurse members will be involved in early evaluation for new Allseating healthcare products so that design and development decisions can be based on their specialized knowledge.

Currently, Allseating’s range of seating solutions fulfill needs across the entire continuum of care. This includes the Foster and Halsa lines for guests and patients, a range of ergonomically-optimized task chairs for caregivers, conference and executive seating, and a number of stackable, multi-purpose products for common areas.

The partnership with NIHD will further Allseating’s goal is to raise its Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) scores, which are derived from surveys that measure patients’ perspectives after hospital visits. “Ultimately, this partnership is about using evidence-based design to improve healthcare outcomes,” says Crill.
