Safco Products Company Thursday announced plans to acquire the business assets of Wisconsin-based Mayline® Company, LLC.

Mayline, a Baird Capital company, while Safco is a subsidiary of Liberty Diversified International, also based in Minneapolis.

The acquisition is expected to close by September 2016.

"The addition of Mayline products to the Safco Portfolio further strengthens our reach and capabilities for customers across the country," said Paul Griffiths, Safco General Manager. "We are building a powerful set of commercial furniture and office product solutions for our customers."

Mayline employs 220 people at two locations, its Sheboygan factory and headquarters and its distribution center in North Little Rock, Ark. Mayline got its start in 1939 making drafting tables as the Engineering Supply Co. and is a mid-market contract manufacturer.
