Tangram Interiors has completed its first project incorporating the Microsoft Surface Hub technology for the Century City, Calif., office of Pittsburgh-based The Coury Firm, a family-owned financial advisory company and multi-family office serving wealthy families and business owners across the country.
Surface Hub empowers work groups to accelerate collaboration and innovation by connecting individuals, regardless of their location, via digital whiteboard, integrated conferencing, multimedia integration with other apps such as Skype and more. Tangram’s implementation of the Surface Hub in the firm’s main conference room encompassed multiple components including structured cabling, cameras, desktop monitors and system configuration.
Advantages of the all-in-one Surface Hub solution for the company included integration with Office 365, not having to purchase audio and visual equipment separately, the quality of the microphones and displays, ease of use and simplicity of application.
The Surface Hub installation was part of a larger engagement in which Tangram provided workspace and technology integration for nine private offices, an executive conference room, task seating, reception furniture and lounge furniture.
The Coury Firm selected Tangram based on its expertise in effectively integrating furniture and technology. They were looking for a partner that could guide them through the life cycle of the office setup including interior design, furniture and technology. Also important to them was a resource for education on the options available, guidance on providers best aligned with their goals, and a liaison with the manufacturers to make the process as easy and efficient as possible.
“The main objective was to choose a technology platform that was able to deliver on our firm’s philosophy of connecting, collaborating and communicating not only with our offices in Pittsburgh but with our clients nationwide,” said Robertino Coury. “We place tremendous value in our ability to be accessible to each other and our clients. In addition, we wanted a technology environment that was easy for our staff to administer, thus bringing additional efficiencies to our operation. We feel the Microsoft Surface Hub delivered on our objective and couldn’t be happier with the outcome.”
In addition to its core furniture offering, Tangram Interiors operates five business units for a complete approach to workplace design and installation: flooring, architecture walls, custom furniture, move management and technology. The Tangram Studio division is focused on custom and co-designed workplaces, while Tangram Technology creates unified ecosystems incorporating audiovisual, acoustics, lighting and sound masking. This range of services allows for a top-to-bottom approach that places each aspect of office planning, design and installation under careful consideration to maximize utility and comfort for the people who make organizations run.
