It is no secret that Alsace's gourmets will find an excellent selection of delicacies. The gourmet creations of the famous, family-run restaurant "L' Auberge de l' Ill" in Illhausern should not be missed on the route through the French region. Once founded by Paul Haeberlin and honoured with three Michelin stars, the restaurant's gastronomic offer has been one of the company's flagships since the end of the 1960s. In order to ensure that guests enjoy the view of both the plate and the room, the architectural firm Jouin Manku has divided the restaurant into four areas, each with its own theme worlds. Nature-inspired wall decorations and room dividers - such as in the impression of a reed landscape - and the wide view through the panoramic windows into the adjacent garden offer a pleasant atmosphere in which one loves to stay.

Perfect enjoyment requires a comfortable seat: the architects therefore chose the "Ester" chair and armchair by Pedrali. Designed by the French designer Patrick Jouin,"Ester" combines elegance with ergonomics: the guest can sink into the seat made of polyurethane foam and elastic straps, flattered by a cover of fabric or leather. The seat is held in place by a stainless steel frame and rests on legs made of brushed aluminium, bronze or titanium. For the gourmet restaurant, a light grey cover was chosen. In combination with the flowing form, "Ester" blends harmoniously into the architecture of the interiors and rounds off the culinary experience.
