A recent project example of how a retractable seating system can transform a room into a multi-functional space was for the Huone Kastrup hotel and conference center.

Within the Huone Kastrup hotel and conference center located in a trendy coastal town just north of Copenhagen, Denmark, the plain conference room was reenvisioned into a luxe theater space. The unique look includes black walls, hanging pendant lights, and contrasting red upholstered chairs from Audience Systems, a leading UK-based designer and manufacturer of retractable and auditorium seating.

Huone Kastrup, strategically located next to the Copenhagen airport, is an ideal place for those looking for a quick conference space, or a room for the night on business trips. Seeking to provide a professional and comfortable area for visitors to conduct meetings or simply relax, Huone called upon Audience Systems to outfit the space with an appropriate seating solution.

Retractable seating is a great option for multi-use spaces, however, it can often look quite plain and less high-end. Audience Systems developed a functional, yet an aesthetically pleasing solution. The team chose high-backed Espace chairs with pocket sprung seats to offer exceptional support and comfort. The chairs can be used with or without the writing tablets. The retractable platforms feature push-button power operation and quick-folding side rails to allow the space to be speedily transformed for different events or meetings.

For further flexibility, the platforms can be opened half-way to accommodate small events in a more intimate way. The uncompromising red upholstery of the chairs pops against the system’s all-black rails, carpets, and writing desks. The retractable system also sits comfortably in the clean interior of the stylishly lit space.
