Lassonde Studios Wins ASID Outcome by Design Awards

The University of Utah’s Lassonde Studios has been named a winner in the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) inaugural Outcome of Design Awards. The awards program seeks to shed light on innovative designers and businesses that focus on the quantifiable effect of projects on people in spaces. Lassonde Studios was officially recognized as a winner as part of the ASID Outcome of Design Conference in Chicago this week. It will also be published in the April issue of Metropolis magazine.

A breakthrough entrepreneurial education building, Lassonde Studios united 400 student residences across four floors stacked upon a 20,000 sf entrepreneurial hangar where any student on campus can build a prototype, attend an event or launch a company. The building has quintupled the number of student startups on campus in just two years and also helped vault the University of Utah into the top ten of key national rankings for entrepreneurial education from The Princeton Review, Bloomberg and U.S. News and World Report. The building has also been profiled by the New York Times, Entrepreneur, Fast Company, Bloomberg, SXSWedu, Architectural Digest and other leading media.
