Workplace Week, an industry leading showcase celebrating workplace excellence, innovation and creativity, hosted its second annual conference in New York City from June 24 - 28. This year, Knoll collaborated with Workplace Week to organize a lunch and learn on June 25. The Knoll program presented factors that influence holistic well-being and toured attendees around the New York showroom, highlighting the very elements that together elevate the workplace experience.
The discussion focused on how today’s mobile workstyles lift limitations on where work is done. To this end, organizations are focused on creating engaging environments that attract workers to the office. In response, the workplace has taken on a new life, incorporating elements of residential and hospitality design to add comfort, functionality and aesthetics for employees to collaborate, ideate and socialize.
As an example of an influencing factor, Kylie Roth, Marketing Senior Director, Workplace Research, Knoll and Kimberly Smith, Senior Director, Workplace Strategy, Knoll presented the latest research from Knoll, "Noise at Work", illustrating the importance of managing noise and outlining key solutions for a better work environment. The presentation led to a discussion on how to best design spaces that no only attract talent, but also retain talent across several years. Participants ranged from architects and designers to facility managers.
Workplace Week is a week-long showcase of workplace innovation, raising funds for young people in need. The events aim to shine a light on New York's most dynamic, innovative and creative workplaces while raising money for the 'I Have a Dream' Foundation - New York. Workplace Week takes place in New York City and London.
