High-end Canadian corporate furniture manufacturer Nienkämper is once again an independent entity after buying out the ownership interest of International Contract Furnishings (ICF).
Nienkämper is now owned by a family trust, with founder Klaus Nienkämper staying on as Chairman and continuing to lead the design direction of the firm. Ann-Marie Snook, who has been with the manufacturer for more than 35 years, has been named as President.
The manufacturer will continue to share showroom space with ICF in Dallas (TX) and New York (NY) for the duration of the premises’ leases. The Nienkämper lease at the Merchandise Mart in Chicago (IL) was recently renewed for another five years and the showroom will be used exclusively for Nienkämper.
“Nienkämper has realised considerable growth and profitability during the past 25 years as a member of the ICF group of companies,” said Klaus Nienkämper. “We believe that continued growth is now best achieved as an independent company.”
