Custer, a Steelcase dealer based in Grand Rapids, is expanding into the northeast Indiana market by acquiring Productive Business Interiors. The acquisition closed on Sept. 1.

PBI was founded in 1982 by Doug McPhail. The business will operate under the name Custer Inc. in the northeast Indiana market with a new set of expanded services and products.

Custer serves as an office furniture dealer, audiovisual and technology provider and custom millwork solutions manufacturer.

The company in July announced the addition of its sixth working showroom in Holland,Mi due to open in October.
