Landscape Forms has appointed Michael Blum, a management professional with proven expertise in driving business growth, to head its newly formed Studio 431 business unit. Mr. Blum most recently served as Portfolio Lead for Seating Product Management at Herman Miller, where he was responsible for a $350 million portfolio of seating products. He brings deep experience in developing and executing strategic plans through leadership of cross-functional teams, and a record of achieving revenue targets on high-investment product development. Establishing its successful Studio 431 Custom Service as an independent business unit is part of Landscape Forms’ long-range strategic plan for expanding its market scope, capturing new opportunities, and meeting aggressive goals for growth. As President of Studio 431, Mr. Blum holds primary responsibility for all customer touch points, production, profitability and growth of the custom services business that is among Landscape Forms’ fastest growing sectors.

Under the management of Robb Smalldon, recently-named President of Landscape Forms Site Furniture and Structure business unit, Studio 431 became, in its first decade, the preeminent resource for leading design professionals seeking custom solutions to complex engineering and development challenges on major corporate, institutional and infrastructure projects. Smalldon explains: “Studio 431 is a very high-powered, highly motivated team of professionals with diverse skills in building client-relationships and understanding client needs, engineering and product development, and managing the supply chain, tooling and manufacturing to deliver world-class custom solutions. The team understands the special market in which we operate and continues to push the boundaries.”

Michael Blum assumes leadership of a major business sector with huge potential for growth. Landscape Forms CEO, Marjorie Simmons, states: “Robb Smalldon has established an extremely solid foundation for Michael to build upon. Studio 431 has been a successful investment and an incredible infusion of innovation for the company. Now Michael is being charged with taking it to the next level. I believe he will be a transformational leader by thinking innovatively and inspiring others to follow. He has a track record for being extremely successful at identifying challenges, assessing opportunities and solutions, and setting plans into action. Michael is a very energetic person and an excellent fit for Landscape Forms. He shares our commitment to design, culture and craft and the understanding that it is all about the people and teamwork. I am very excited to welcome Michael to Landscape Forms.”
