Grand Haven, Michigan-based lighting manufacturer, LightCorp, announced it had acquired the Stockton, California lifestyle and functional accessory brand, Most Modest.
The addition of the Most Modest portfolio of accessories and technology goods better positions LightCorp to compete in the changing contract furniture market, as it evolves to a more residential design aesthetic. The acquisition is part of LightCorp's new strategic vision to focus on creating holistically connected commercial and residential environments through interior power distribution, lighting, and functional accessories.
"LightCorp's acquisition of Most Modest provides a major growth opportunity to crossover from the contract office environment into residential and direct-to-consumer markets with lighting and technology solutions," explains Marc Langeland, LightCorp's President.
"LightCorp's domestic manufacturing of electronics and fixtures combined with their unique ability to support high customization pairs perfectly with the Most Modest brand and provides designers with a distinct advantage when bringing products to market," said Most Modest founder, Justin Champaign.
Champaign will continue to design for the Most Modest brand and support LightCorp with new product opportunities.
Most Modest was founded in 2013 with the vision of creating functional and design-focused products that enrich peoples' everyday lives. More recently, the growing brand awareness of Most Modest products has generated partnerships with notable retail brands such as Urban Outfitters and Design Within Reach, who currently feature Most Modest products in their offerings.
