New Bench Series from Arcadia Suits People of All (And Small) Sorts

Everyone needs a cozy place to pass the time, and thanks to Arcadia’s newest bench series, AllSorts and SmallSorts, both grown-ups and kids alike can find their happy place. By offering right-sized comfort and exceptional versatility, this playful collection is a refreshingly original seating option for healthcare, education, retail environments and beyond.

Designed in partnership with Rainlight and marking their third collaboration together, it first began with AllSorts. Originally conceptualized to be the soft-seating counterpart to their recently introduced WorkSmith collection with Arcadia, the series was a continuation of that same industrial aesthetic with mixed materials, familiar shapes and signature touches.

Once the final design and prototype was established, it quickly became apparent that the scale could be easily modified to child-size proportions. No stranger to kids’ furniture, Arcadia has been successfully offering products in this category for close to twenty years, and SmallSorts was a timely and ideal new addition.

Characterized by soft curves, geometric forms, and exceptional comfort, AllSorts and SmallSorts are offered in single and two-seat models, with or without back cushions. The back cushions themselves feature accent upholstery panels for virtually limitless fabric combinations ranging from sprightly to subdued depending on the desired mood. Adult models are built upon an ash wood platform with a solid wood edge, and are specifiable in a wide range of standard finishes or custom colors. In addition, they are available with a table option, as well as a narrower size for greater design flexibility in spaces that require a smaller footprint. Both collections feature matte black metal legs, a signature aesthetic that ties-in with Arcadia’s WorkSmith series, also designed by Rainlight, or they can be finished in any of Arcadia’s premium color selections.

To accommodate the digital lives of today, a variety of under-seat power units are available for AllSorts, while SmallSorts’ power options are limited to USB charging ports for an added element of safety. Built to last, AllSorts and SmallSorts are able to withstand a 500 lb. maximum weight capacity on single units and 750 lbs. for two-seat models.

“We were intrigued by the design concept for AllSorts, but when the mini version was developed, that’s when our love of the series was sealed,” said Helen Kim, Vice President of Marketing for Arcadia. “Not only were we able to develop a uniquely modern seating offering for corporate environments with AllSorts, but with the addition of SmallSorts, we’ve expanded the reach and potential into other markets, appealing to a much broader customer base. We think end-users of every size and age will love relaxing in these new collections.”

Available now, this fun-spirited seating collection is designed to support individual work as well as offer a friendly atmosphere for group dynamics of all kinds.
