In light of the current COVID-19 crisis, and the shortages in personal protective equipment (PPE) for frontline workers, there has never been a more urgent time for the design industry to create innovative solutions to help. To support this collective effort, Eventscape, an art and architectural fabrication company, dedicated a skilled team of engineers, craftsmen, designers and fabricators to produce much-needed protective tools and supplies for healthcare facilities and essential businesses. Working together with their partner Plaxall Inc. in New York, the team conceived a box that stores all required components for 100 face shields which can be self-assembled in under a minute onsite. Due to the compact nature of the box, it is not only lightweight but also easy to transport and store. This innovative method was developed to ensure that large quantities can be made available to those in need in minimal time.
To assist these frontline workers, Eventscape has donated over $50,000 worth of face shield distribution kits in Canada and the U.S across different sectors of industries. These include Winthrop University Hospital in New York, Trillium Hospital, Peel Regional Police, Richmond Hill Retirement Residence, Daily Bread Food Bank in Toronto, and more.
"Our mission during this difficult moment is to use our team's expertise to protect those on the frontline of fighting this pandemic. By doing so, we not only keep our team on staff, but we also have the ability to support those in need at a large scale. We've developed these products in response to the current health crisis and the Eventscape team is ready to produce them rapidly. We're eager to get these supplies to those who need them and encourage anyone looking for this PPE to contact Eventscape" - Gareth Brennan, Eventscape Founder and President
