Humanscale, a designer and manufacturer of ergonomic products, today announced a partnership with ecomedes, a pioneer of solutions that support sustainable building product purchasing, and the launch of a new portal that will simplify the discovery and evaluation of Humanscale products for workspace furniture buyers concerned with health and sustainability.
Designed for use by building owners, designers, distributors, and AEC professionals seeking furniture that meets sustainability requirements cost-effectively, the portal leverages a free-access sustainable product search engine from ecomedes that includes over 10,000 different building product brands and 700,000 unique building products. The Humanscale portal is customized to meet the specific needs of Humanscale’s customer audiences and internal teams.
Construction Executive reported that building product manufacturers are increasingly recognizing the need to consistently report their product sustainability certifications, meet as many standards as possible, and present this information in a way that assists owners and designers. Ecomedes meets this need for Humanscale’s sales, marketing, QA, and technical teams by applying the company’s extensive knowledge of how product information is being used by building product buyers to the portal’s design. Ecomedes also extends Humanscale’s visibility to a larger sustainable purchasing audience via its product database offering.
“We have always been strong advocates of a comfortable, healthy, and sustainable office environment - whether in the office or working at home,” said Leena Jain, CMO of Humanscale. “We are excited to partner with ecomedes to provide better transparency and rapidly respond to customer questions regarding the sustainable profile of our products. As many of our sales and marketing teams are now selling digitally from home, this online portal will also shorten the time to deliver updated product sheets and RFP responses.”
“Humanscale’s brand evokes good health combined with stunning style. At ecomedes, our mission is to make their brand commitment, like those of other sustainable building product manufacturers, easily identifiable by buyers who care - all the while helping to dispel the myth that sustainable products are unjustifiably more expensive,” said Kathleen Egan, CEO of ecomedes.
