IKEA FURNITURE IS GETTING FUTURISTIC WITH THE PS 2017 COLLECTION

Come spring 2017, a trip to IKEA may feel like a trip to the future. Don't worry, the Swedish furniture manufacturer's staples will still be the foundation of their offerings, but you'll also find the company's newest PS Collection, a series of experimental products released every few years and intended to add interest and energy to the stores. This one may just be the most experimental, and tasty, yet.

Design Within Reach Merger Never Happened, Lawsuit Claims

Design Within Reach Merger Never Happened, Lawsuit Claims

Mr. Franklin and another shareholder, Charles Almond, are seeking unspecified damages, but their argument could, in theory, result in the court ordering that the merger be rescinded and DWR essentially carved out of the company. It is a long shot, but it would be a corporate do-over on a large scale.

Herman Miller Never Technically Acquired Design Within Reach, Lawsuit Claims

Herman Miller Never Technically Acquired Design Within Reach, Lawsuit Claims

Two years ago, when the legendary furniture manufacturer Herman Miller bought the once-troubled retailer Design Within Reach, it was largely seen as a triumph in the world of high-end furniture. Now, as the New York Times reports, a lawsuit against the Herman Miller claims that the $154 million merger never actually happened.

FTC challenges Staples-Office Depot deal

FTC challenges Staples-Office Depot deal

The Federal Trade Commission Monday filed an administrative complaint challenging office-supplies giant Staples' (SPLS) proposed $6.3 billion acquisition of top rival Office Depot (ODP).

The deal between Framingham, Mass.-based Staples and Boca Raton, Fla.-headquartered Office Depot — the only U.S. office-supply companies with national reach and the sector's top two chains — would significantly reduce national competition in the market for office supplies sold to large business customers, the FTC said.
