Tramonte + Johnson designed the offices of smart products company Hive, located in Houston, Texas.

As a spin-off of an existing company, and with headquarters located in the UK, Hive’s new US office needed an individual identity. The goal was to take cues from headquarters while creating a space unique to the local workforce and culture.

Hive produces a family of smart products (lights, plugs, outlets, etc.) and services that connect your home and make daily living easier. They wanted an office that was dual-purpose: to display these products and build a fun and functional work-space to foster the creation of them. The main entry and reception acts as a “residence” to showcase products and how they work in the connected home. The team is able to tour visitors through the residence and utilize the various areas as flexible huddle zones.
