Allsteel's Los Angeles Showroom awarded Gold Certification by the international WELL Building Institute

Allsteel has announced that its new downtown Los Angeles showroom at 555 South Flower Street has achieved WELL Certified Gold in the Retail Pilot Program. Designed by Wolcott Architecture Interiors of Culver City, CA, the 10,222-square- foot showroom meets WELL performance standards in multiple categories.

The WELL Building Standard is the first certification program to use evidence-based metrics to determine how the design, construction, maintenance and operations of a building support the health and wellness of its occupants. Certification is awarded at one of three levels—Silver, Gold, or Platinum—using seven categories of impact relevant to human health and well-being in the built environment: Air, Light, Nourishment, Water, Fitness, Mind and Comfort.

“By achieving WELL Gold in our new Los Angeles showroom, we have established ourselves as leaders in this important area,” said Courtney Moline, sustainability manager at Allsteel. “Of the 42 existing WELL Certified projects worldwide, Allsteel is one of only 19 to achieve Gold-level certification, and the first to do so in the Retail Pilot Program.”

“The showroom certification project began in October 2016 and we found that our approach to designing workspaces closely aligns with the WELL standard,” said Brandon Sieben, president of Allsteel Inc. “Gold certification is welcome confirmation that Allsteel's health and wellness practices are on the right track.”
