Leggett & Platt Office Components recalls 48,900 office chairs

Leggett & Platt Office Components has recalled about 48,900 office chairs sold in the U.S. and Canada due to a possible fall hazard. The recall involves office chairs with a Leggett & Platt Office Components LP01 synchro slider mechanism that allows the user to adjust the seat depth. The sliders were sold on five brands of office chairs including the Hon, Hugg, JSI, Sitmatic and Via Seating.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced the recall on Wednesday, saying the seat slider bolts and push nuts can disconnect and fall from the chair, which could cause the seat to detach from the chair.
