National Office Furniture recently received recertification of the ISO 14001 standards. National’s Environmental Management System has been certified to ISO 14001:2004 since 2008 and recently received the upgraded certification to ISO 14001:2015.
The internationally acknowledged ISO 14001 Environmental Management System certification recognizes companies that have adopted environmentally responsible practices in their business processes. The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) created ISO 14001 as an internationally agreed upon standard that sets out the requirements for an environmental management system. ISO 14001 helps organizations improve their environmental performance through more efficient use of resources and reduction of waste, thus gaining a competitive advantage and the trust of stakeholders. Certified entities must demonstrate continuous improvement in their systems and their approach to environmental impacts to maintain their certification.
“This ISO 14001:2015 recertification really echoes our dedication to our Vision and Guiding Principles,” said Greg Meunier, National’s Vice President of Global Operations. “We are committed to helping communities be great places to live and this recognition acknowledges our continued efforts to comply to the highest standards of quality and environmental responsibility. Through our materials, products, processes, services, and most importantly, our people, we have sustained and advanced our ISO certification.”
