Designer Spotlight: Poppin's 'Work Happy' Office Furnishings Create Dynamic Workspaces

Poppin, whose own company motto and mission is ‘Work Happy,’ is infusing today’s workspaces with the same spirit.

The award winning workstyle design firm makes everything from $4 colorful, eye-catching paperclips to $40 modern desktop sets to state-of-the-art furniture designed to assemble and seamlessly change configurations in seconds entirely tool-free like its best-selling $3,000 Ping-Pong Conference Table.

Acclaimed veteran product designer, Jeff Miller, is Poppin’s Vice President of Design. His previous work can be seen everywhere from the shelves at The Container Store and other major retailers to the offices of tech companies worldwide. He joined Poppin Chairman, CEO, & Cofounder Randy Nicolau when Nicolau relaunched the business in 2011.

Poppin has worked with over 20,000 business customers, including LinkedIn, Squarespace, Kate Spade, and Shutterfly, to help them create work environments that appeal to the type of employees they wish to attract.

Led by Miller, Poppin products are developed by an in-house New York design team along with a manufacturing team in China. In 2015, it expanded into office furniture and put its products into 4,500 retail stores. By 2016, the company reported $40 million in revenue with nearly 50% of its sales coming from furniture. Poppin recently launched its QT Privacy Lounge Chair designed to deflect sound waves and provide employees semi-seclusion seating in open offices. This week, it released its Take Aim Coffee Table, which works double-duty as a side table and an impromptu cornhole game.
