Landscape Forms announced the acquisition of Phoenix-based Kornegay Design. Founded by Larry and Paula Kornegay in 2000 to bring high design, attention to craft, and sustainable practices to the production of concrete planters. Kornegay has earned a reputation among architects and landscape architects for its large-scale handcrafted products. Landscape Forms President and CEO Richard Heriford explains, “The synergy is really about like minds and the shared values of design, culture and craft. We are similar companies in many ways, albeit at different scales. Our products are made of different materials but they appeal to the same discriminating audience.”
Landscape Forms and Kornegay Design have been marketing partners since 2010. The ancient material and old-world craft of Kornegay planters provide a compelling counterpoint to the contemporary, hard-edge materials and tech-based finishes of Landscape Forms site elements. The refined sensibility and attention to form and detail that characterize both companies provide a rich vocabulary of products that work harmoniously together.
Landscape Forms will offer Kornegay designs as part of its wide array of standard product and to welcome Kornegay employees into their new family. Richard Heriford concludes, “The connection seemed natural from the start. This is a perfect match in terms of the value we place on design and on people, that will expand Landscape Forms product offering and brand leadership.
