At just 64, Jon fought a courageous battle for the last 14 months until he succumbed to his illness on September 29, 2019. He is survived by his wife Judy, daughter Marissa and her husband Noah, and his grandchildren Emma and Jacob.
Jon joined the Global family 19 years ago as Executive Vice President, Finance after being a trusted outside accounting consultant for many years. Jon streamlined credit and accounting processes as he learned the commercial furniture business and was later appointed President of Global USA in 2011. He immediately began focusing on building a stronger business through employee wellbeing, motivation and reward while starting an internal campaign of 'everybody counts.' Jon would often walk through the offices simply to check on employees and see how they were doing. He made himself relatable by always having a story or joke ready to tell.
Prior to Jon's time at Global, and after earning his degree at The Pennsylvania State University, he built a successful career in the accounting profession. In 1976, Jon joined Laventhol & Horwath, one of the larger national accounting firms in the country. In 1988, he was promoted to partner — one of the firm's youngest as he was considered one of its rising stars. In 1990, Jon joined Rudolph, Palitz, one of the Philadelphia area's largest regional accounting firms. Jon served as a senior partner until 1999, when that Firm was acquired by McGladrey & Pullen, a top ten national accounting firm. Jon then assumed the role as a partner in McGladrey & Pullen's Philadelphia office until 2000, when he joined Global USA.
Jon will be remembered for his lifelong friendships, his strength in business, his caring for employees' personal struggles and his love of family. From all of us at Global worldwide, we extend our love and support to his family during this most difficult time.
