AGATI took a field trip to North Park University recently to interview some of the staff and students who witnessed the change from "Ottoman Empire" to "the Age of Enlightenment."

Inscape Announces Second Quarter Results
Inscape (INQ.TO) today announced its second quarter financial results ended October 31, 2015. The second quarter sales of $21.1 million demonstrated an upward trend in quarterly sales from $12.6 million in Q4 of fiscal 2015 and $15.3 million in Q1 of fiscal 2016. This represents a 66% increase from Q4 fiscal 2015.

Kewaunee Scientific Reports Results for Second Quarter
Kewaunee Scientific Corporation (KEQU) today reported results for its second quarter ended October 31, 2015. Sales for the quarter were $31,037,000, a 2.6% increase from sales of $30,258,000 in the prior year. Domestic sales for the quarter were $26,279,000, up 11.2% from sales of $23,629,000 in the second quarter of last year. International sales for the quarter were $4,758,000, down 28.2% from sales of $6,629,000 in the second quarter last year.

High ceilings, open-plan layouts and light-flooded rooms have transformed previously practical but dull inner-city workspaces. This change has caused a real boom in loft architecture in international cities. But even in smaller and medium-sized towns conversions of old factory facilities into offices or residential units are also popular. A company called Wortmann from Detmold in Germany has shown that even a virtually windowless warehouse, never designed to accommodate people, can be remodeled to become a light-filled office.

I'm sitting in a private work pod right now. The day is a bit dreary here in Minnesota but I have a task lamp pointed toward my keyboard. It's helping my disposition a bit. Herman Miller, Inc. Tuesday announced the opening of PortalMill, the global furniture manufacturer’s newest manufacturing facility in the United Kingdom. Located in Melksham, Wiltshire, the 170,000 sq.-ft. manufacturing and office space was designed by leading British architect Sir Nicholas Grimshaw, and signifies Herman Miller’s continued commitment to expanding the company’s global footprint.
