Steelcase Shares Plunge 20% after Results
Steelcase (NYSE:SCS) said third-quarter adjusted earnings rose a penny to 30 cents, missing by 2 cents. Revenue fell 1.6% to $787.6 million dollars, missing. Steelcase's Q4 outlook was weak. The office furniture maker's shares plunged 20% in extended trading.
Indiana Furniture CEO Resigns
In a press release this morning, Indiana Furniture Industries announced that their CEO, Bret Ackerman, has resigned his position to assume other duties with the company. Ackerman has been with the company for 19 years, and has been President and CEO since 2010. His prior position was as Chief Financial Officer.
A CHAIR BORN FROM RESEARCHING NEW WAYS TO JOIN METALLIC TUBES
Part of their In Tube collection, Achodoso Estudio’s In_tube chair is the result of researching new ways of joining metallic tubes. Their finding was to make a partial cut at the outside curve letting a tube with a slightly smaller diameter fit inside it to create a connection.
Herman Miller Reports Second Quarter Fiscal 2016 Results
Herman Miller, Inc. (MLHR) today announced results for its second quarter ended November 28, 2015. Net sales in the quarter totaled $580.4 million, an increase of 2.7% from the same quarter last fiscal year. New orders in the second quarter of $601.4 million were 5.1% above the prior year level. On an organic basis, which adjusts for foreign currency translation, sales and orders in the second quarter increased 5.1% and 7.2%, respectively, from the same quarter last fiscal year.
Virco Announces Improved Third Quarter and YTD Results
For the third quarter consisting of August, September and October revenue increased 4% from $62.3 million last year to $65.0 million this year. The combined effects of stable raw material costs, slightly higher prices, and better manufacturing and freight efficiencies boosted operating margins to 10%. Overall operating income was up 36%, from $4.8 million to $6.5 million.

5 highlights from Steelcase's Corporate Sustainability Report
Steelcase Inc. is ending the year with a report summing up its efforts to be a model corporate citizen. The 2015 Corporate Sustainability Report presents what the Grand Rapids office furniture maker sees as business, environmental and social achievements from the past year.
